Creativity Takes Time

At our church we’re working on giving ourselves more time to be creative. Right now we’re about 5 weeks out in our brainstorming and planning. Hopefully soon, we’ll be 6 – 8 weeks out. One of the things that I’ve learned about creativity is that it takes time. We might be able to come up with creative ideas the week before a service, but most of the time we won’t be able to pull them off.

Right now we’re working on ideas for videos to illustrate the sermon, as well as creative take aways, ways to decorate the stage and outside the box ideas.

I’ve thought quite a bit about this topic, in fact I’ll talk more about it soon. I’d like to know, how long does it take you to come up with, hone in on and put into action a creative idea or plan?
